On 27th April, Drimmelen and across the Netherlands everyone and everything will 'turn orange' in recognition of Koningsdag (King's Day).
Koningsdag or King's Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Celebrated on 27 April (on the 26th if the 27th falls on a Sunday), the date marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander.
Everyone will be outside celebrating this special day. Children's markets, parties, activities, and fun will bring the Netherlands alive. Every inch of the Netherlands will be celebrating in some shape or form.
Faces, clothes, flags, literally everyone and everything will turn orange as the people of the Netherlands show their pride to the Dutch Royal family, the House of Orange-Nassau.
The Netherlands is definitely worth a visit at this time of year.
