195 beaches and marinas will be awarded Blue Flag status in 2026, 29 of which will also receive the Green Flag.
BLUE FLAG WITH GREEN PENNANT FOR JACHTHAVEN BIESBOSCH
Hoorn – 7 May 2026 – Dutch beaches and marinas are once again setting the standard for quality and sustainability this year: in 2026, the Blue Flag will fly at 195 locations – 143 marinas and 52 beaches. The award ceremony took place today in Hoorn, at the municipal marina. Together with WSV Hoorn and Grashaven Hoorn, these hosts ensured a successful Blue Flag award ceremony.
Representatives from the certified locations proudly received their flags there. Jachthaven Biesbosch received the Blue Flag with Green Pennant for the 21st time from Blue Flag Jury Chairman Gert de Kok and Councillor René Assendelft of the municipality of Hoorn.
The Blue Flag is an internationally recognised environmental award granted to beaches and marinas that meet strict criteria in the areas of the environment and sustainability, education, maintenance, facilities and safety. The growing number of certified locations in the Netherlands reflects the increasing commitment of local authorities and businesses to a clean, safe and responsible recreational environment.
The participation of 195 businesses and local authorities in the Blue Flag programme in 2026 sends a clear signal that quality and sustainability are becoming increasingly high on the agenda.
This year, Jachthaven Biesbosch is hoisting the Blue Flag for the 21st time. It is also the 8th year that we will hoist the Green Pennant.
