Donation from Jachthaven Biesbosch brings joy to Safaripark Beekse Bergen
The animals at Beekse Bergen Safari Park have been given some special new toys. Jachthaven Biesbosch has donated all its used and discarded fenders to the park so that the animals can play with them.

The sturdy fenders, often made of robust rubber, have proved to be ideal enrichment items for the animals. The young cheetah cubs, in particular, have discovered the fenders to be brilliant toys. Wildlife photographer Jolanda Berkelmans captured the young cheetahs as they enthusiastically played with the colourful fenders, rolling and pushing them about. The photos are beautiful and showcase the animals’ curiosity and playfulness.

“We are delighted that these fenders are being given a new lease of life for the animals at Beekse Bergen. What is waste to us becomes a fun enrichment activity for the cheetahs. As far as we’re concerned, sustainability and animal welfare go hand in hand,” said a spokesperson for Jachthaven Biesbosch.
Beekse Bergen welcomes such creative initiatives that promote the animals’ welfare. The fenders are now in full use and provide hours of fun.
