Jachthaven Biesbosch is positioned on the edge of the unique and beautiful Biesbosch National Park. As one of the largest freshwater wetlands in Europe, the Biesbosch is a mecca for sailors and motorboaters with endless rivers, lakes and waterways to explore in the peaceful national park.
The National Park is surrounded by various towns and villages, all offering different perspectives on Dutch life with many having rivers and waterways at the heart of their community.
Within walking distance of the marina is Drimmelen, the smallest of the six parishes in the municipality. The village has only about 500 inhabitants which lends itself to a rustic charm rare to find these days. Take a relaxing stroll along the meandering lanes between old houses to the historic centre of the 'Herengracht' and 'Weitjes'. At the centre of the village is a beautiful narrow boat, perminatenly positioned inside the village's waterway. The historic port is also where you'll find rental boats, watersports and river cruises
The nearby town of Made was the birthplace of sailor Hans Horrevoets, who began his sailing career in our marina. Made is good for shopping and withn easy reach by car or on bicycles which can be rented from the marina reception. You will find a wide range of amenities in the town including two supermarkets, banks, pubs and restaurants.
The fortified town of Geertruidenberg is located at the mouth of the river Donge, at the place where the rivers de Amer and de Bergsche Maas meet. It has a cozy market square and a beautiful historic city centre. In and around the town are many walks and cycle routes. Information can be obtained from the Tourist Office.
